You may have heard that my Siren Sessions are really fun. Or, you have a friend who did one and felt super nervous beforehand, but ended up having a total blast.
But you're still not sure - you're kind of thinking about it... but you have questions.
That's totally fair. I would be nervous too. Or at the very least, a little apprehensive. I mean, most people don't just strip down to their skivvies in front of just anyone. It's totally normal to have lots of things you are wondering about before you decide to book. Here are the answers to some of the most common questions people have when they are thinking of booking a Siren Session with me:

|Make-up artist, Melissa and me at our Help Portrait event in June.|
I have always believed that a simple photograph has the power to make an impact.
While I wholeheartedly believe that as a portrait and wedding photographer, I am making an impact on my clients lives by helping them to capture fleeting moments, I have also yearned to give back to my community as a whole. Last year, I began volunteering with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, which has been one of the most amazing, life-changing things I have done - and has fueled my desire to help more.
Then, a friend of mine messaged me and sent me a link to an article about Help Portrait - a photographic movement whose mission is to simply take a portrait of a person in need, and give it to them.. It’s about more than just giving a photographic print though - it’s about giving hope.

In April of this year, I applied, and was accepted to an organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep as a Volunteer Photographer. NILMDTS provides remembrance photography to families suffering the loss of a newborn.
I have known of the organization for some time now. I looked into the application requirements a while back, but I was intimidated and apprehensive, and put off applying, telling myself I would do it soon.
Finally, one afternoon in March of this year, I had a conversation with my younger sister, who is a Labor & Delivery nurse, that made it clear I could no longer put off applying. I realized that there was no NILMDTS presence here in Southeastern Connecticut, and that families in my own backyard facing an unimaginable loss did not have this service available to them. That evening, I submitted my application to NILMDTS and a few weeks later I found out that I was accepted.

It has been so wonderful to review all of the newborns I have photographed over the past five years. It honestly fills my heart with so much joy that all of these families have allowed me to record such a special time in their lives.
